Cold cases can refer to a variety of different scenarios. Some of those instances include:
● Unsolved homicides
● Kidnapping
● Assault
● Missing persons
Cases get cold for reasons such as:
● Lack of witnesses
● Lack of evidence
● Lack of reliable leads
Private Investigators can work with Attorney Law Firms to help solve these cold cases. With only 7% of law enforcement agencies having a dedicated Cold Case Unit, PI’s are often turned to for help.
Private Investigators have the appropriate licensure to be able to handle such cases. Even when law enforcement are able to work on the case, the chain of command might prevent them from making the progress needed. For example, a lead can take the detective outside of their jurisdiction, preventing them from pursuing it. PI’s are able to follow any lead that comes forward regardless of the lead’s location or where it takes the PI.
At the center of every cold case is a victim and their family who only want answers. Having Private Investigators begin to work their way through the unsolved cases gives peace to those so desperate for answers.
We will follow the leads wherever they take us, allowing Attorney Law Firms to work with facts and witnesses in order to close the case.
